Welcome to Pines Presbyterian Preschool

We are located in the heart of picturesque City Centre, in West Houston. We provide toddlers and children, ages 18 months to 5 years-old, a challenging environment that enables them to develop socially, physically, emotionally, spiritually, creatively and intellectually in a Christian atmosphere.

Letter from the Director

Welcome to Pines Presbyterian Preschool! Call me biased, but I believe you could not make a better choice when it comes to choosing a preschool for your child. Since 1970, we have made it our mission to teach the whole child – socially, physically, emotionally, spiritually, creatively and intellectually. We at Pines share with you the responsibility of developing a healthy personality in your child at a period of time when growth is rapid and important.

We understand how important it is for children to learn their ABCs and 123s. At the same time, students who are socially and emotionally prepared for school are more successful in the classroom than those who are not. With that in mind, our goals for each child are as follows:

  • To discover his/her Christian faith through a pervading atmosphere of love and concern.
  • To develop a good self-image, a sense of accomplishment, a feeling of worthiness.
  • To learn about his/her world and workout problems in a safe environment.
  • To develop curiosity.
  • To learn how to get along with his/her peers, to respect the property rights of others.

So how exactly do we go about achieving these goals? It’s easy – through play. After all, play is the work of childhood. Technology may change. Expectations may change. But the way our human brains develop does not change. Children learn by doing. They learn best when their entire body and all their senses are engaged. Pines students are active all day long – moving, exploring, investigating and discovering. Through play we learn important social skills such as problem-solving, negotiating, empathy and teamwork. Our teachers are trained to model these behaviors in a positive way and to encourage them in all our students.

Pines is truly a special place where each child is free to develop in a safe and loving Christian environment. We hope that you will choose Pines as your preschool. It’s a great place to grow!

Preschool Registration

2018 Registration: January 24 - February 9

NEW Family applications will be accepted starting Wednesday, January 24 at 11:45 am.

Pines Presbyterian Preschool has an open registration policy. The preschool will provide the placement of each child according to the child’s age, days preferred, and, in conjunction with teacher recommendations and assessment of each child’s needs. Payment of registration fees provides placement of the child into the preschool, but specific class and teacher assignments are not guaranteed by the payment of these fees. In the event a class has more children than the maximum permitted, the school will use a system of prioritizing that class group to determine placement.

All Families

All families pay a non-refundable $60.00 application fee, for each applicant, due with the application form. Application forms will be available online here. New families to the school will not be placed in a class until all Pines children and currently enrolled children have been placed. Notification of placement for new students will begin after March 2, 2018.

Other Fees & Policies

A non-refundable, $60.00 Student Application Fee is required with the application. This $60.00 fee will be applied to the $260.00 registration fee. When you are notified of a place for your child, the remainder of the registration fee is due in the amount of $200.00.

The May 2018 tuition will hold your child’s place in class. This is due May 1, 2017. Along with the registration fee and May tuition, a yearly activity fee will be due for Bridge ($50.00) and a yearly workbook fee for Kindergarten ($100.00). All fees are non-refundable.

Tuition is payable in eight equal installments (September-April). May tuition is pre-paid as a deposit; therefore, no May tuition is due.
